Puahue school fundraiser cookbook, Around Our Table

Project: Fundraiser Cookbook, Around Our Table

Client: Puahue School

What an epic adventure for eight Mums from our small rural Puahue school. We made some incredible friendships and some amazing food, I even feel a little bit more confident in the kitchen when I make these family recipes because they are easy and taste bloody fantastic.

It was almost a recipe in it self to make when you think about all the planning, recipe finding, cooking, photographing, styling, advertising, marketing, proofing and editing, note taking that goes into a fundraiser school cookbook. Plus the different emotions like passion, sheer determination, dedication, trust, exhaustion, and on my part, fighting the immense fear not to run for the hills when putting together a 384 page cookbook plus the cover design and sending a cookbook that size to print ( I admit it was very scary ). But we are all immensely proud of our efforts, and I love seeing my own copy of Around Our Table in its special spot in my kitchen.

All the profits will go towards the rebuild of our beloved community Puahue hall, so that our school and local groups can continue to use it for many more years.

Integrate Data Solutions website design by Creative Box

Project: Logo, Business Cards and Website

Client: Integrate Data Solutions

At the end of 2018 after much thought and consideration, we began to offer website design as part of our branding services. It allows us to give our clients the full branding service for their business and instead of sending them away. Its something I’ve completely fallen in love doing as it fits with my creative side but also my nerdy analytical side 😉

This website was for Mel at Integrate Data Solutions, who specialises in creating custom data bases and systems for businesses, plus financial analysis. She’s a hell of a business woman and friend so as much as we wanted her website to be functional and informative, adding modern workplace and working cafe styled photography, colour and simple line drawings gave her site some interest, character and insight into Mel and her work.⁣

Logo design for Madson Construction, by Waikato graphic designer Creative Box

Project: Logo and  Business Card Design

Client: Madson Construction

Alistair Macdonald is a jack of all trades; from renovations, sheds, to decks, retaining walls and fences, and even earthworks, landscaping and section drainage he can take care of it. And because he is a bloke he needed a logo design for his Te Awamutu based construction business that was masculine, but wouldn’t show off any one skill, as he offers a range of services.
Once we got chatting I discovered he had created his business name by joining his children’s names. We decided to play on this idea with the use of colour, and created a bold and masculine logo design.

Branding and stationery design for Baked on Alexandra by Creative Box

Project: Logo, Business Cards & Winter Menu

Client: Baked On Alexandra

These were for our favourite local girl Toni and her new cafe Baked on Alexandra in Te Awamutu. I love Toni’s approach to bringing new trends, fresh ideas and sustainability to our community, and her and husband Nick have done it with gusto. The cafe is decked out beautifully with vintage finds, beautifully upholstered furniture and gorgeous print wallpaper (I’m not joking you’ll even enjoy the trip to the bathroom when you see the dog print!) and the friendliest staff. Our favourite treat is the curly fries and homemade aioli.

Custom design wedding invitation by Creative Box

I had to say I was a little bit excited when Georgia & Nathan told me their wedding style was ‘simple wildflower’ with lots of beautiful colour and sent me the most luscious pictures of bouquets they had in mind for their wedding. It was not only a blast sharing this special part of their planning, but painting up a floral storm to create this kind of little number was really up my alley.

Their custom design wedding invitations were 5×7″ size (178 x 120mm), printed on 300gsm white smooth card, and came enclosed in white envelopes along with a smaller information card for the extra guest details.

“Omg Omg Omg!!! I have never torn open a parcel so fast in my life! Thank you Kelly for designing and organising these amazing invitations for us. I am actually so in love with them. You have put up with all our difficult changes and uncertainty on the look of them and for that I’m sorry but my gosh it was worth it! Thank you 😍😍😍 !!!  Georgia Kane

Logo design by Creative Box

Project: Logo design

Client: Sweet Avenue Cakes

I admit I did squeal when Kirsten said to me “I’d like you to redesign my logo”. She is not only a gorgeous friend but her cake baking skills are amazing. My husband and kids wait patiently (more like impatiently) after every wedding fair to see if Kirsten has given me the left overs – they aren’t left overs in the sense, they are perfect little morsels of heaven. ⠀
I’ve shared in Kirsten’s business journey the last few years and watched her grow and it’s been really exciting… so we were careful not to completely change her existing logo, but carefully update it so it looked fresh and modern. To ensure the essence remained we kept the same colours and fonts to maintain the familiarity her beloved customers knew and recognised. This is really important for your brand awareness x

Business card design by Creative Box

Project: Business cards

Client: Sweet Avenue Cakes

We took Kirsten’s new Sweet Avenue Cakes logo and created these delicious new business cards. Designed to compliment her new updated business look and her amazing skills with the whisk… in fact I’ve discovered Kirsten’s an all round natural in the kitchen and have recently pinched a couple of handy recipes off her.
