Does anyone else feel like hiding under a blanket when:
Someone cheerfully announces how soon it is till Christmas
The kids start their daily countdown of school weeks remaining
You spot Christmas decorations in shops before Halloween is even over
I get it. The end of year can feel overwhelming, especially when you're running a business. Between client deadlines, family commitments, and trying to actually enjoy the festive season, it's easy to feel like you're sprinting toward the finish line.
But this year, I'm determined to be different. This year, I plan to be super organised—so to wrap (did you catch that?) these last couple of months up without losing my mind, I've created a plan. Well, at least for the business side of life! 😉
Your 5-Step Christmas Business Checklist
1. Update your email signature Add your Christmas hours to your email signature now. It's one of those "set and forget" tasks that saves you from answering the same question fifty times in December.
2. Send a newsletter announcement Let your clients know about your holiday schedule via your email newsletter. Give them plenty of notice so they can plan accordingly, and they'll appreciate the heads up.
3. Update your website Pop a notification on your website about your Christmas hours. Whether it's a banner, a homepage note, or a dedicated page—make it visible. Your website works 24/7, so let it do the communicating for you.
4. Block out your calendar Update your Calendly (or whatever booking system you use) with your holiday dates. Block out those days now before they fill up with well-meaning "quick calls" that eat into your break.
5. Set up your out-of-office reply Write your auto-reply message now while you're thinking clearly, not on Christmas Eve when you're frantically trying to remember passwords. Include your return date and any emergency contact information if needed.
The Final Touch
Now order in the scorched almonds for the gift-wrapping session, pour yourself something festive, and we'll all be on our merry way!
