Wedding Invitations for Sophie & Colm

I truly loved working with Sophie and Colm on their wedding stationery, not only were they super lovely but their vision for their design was beautiful too. There is something quite nice about minimal design. Its actually harder to nail as everything element has to be set out perfectly, but the simple yet elegant overall look came together wonderfully. Using crisp white card, scripty fonts mixed with a cheeky serif font, and a little touch of twine we created a save the date card, wedding invitation and thank you cards.

The invitations were 5×7″ size (125 x 178mm) and printed on 300gsm white smooth card, and came enclosed in kraft envelopes. The invitation and extra cards were tied together with twine and tag.

“We stumbled across Kelly after my Mum won us a voucher at a wedding expo in Hamilton and thought we would go and see her. My Mum winning that voucher was honestly the best thing ever! Once we met Kelly we instantly loved her! She has an eye for design and we would meet with her, describe what we wanted and when she sent us the drafts it was like she was living in our heads, exactly what we had imagined for our invitations was down on paper! We worked with Kelly from our engagement invites to our wedding thank you cards and it was so amazing having all our engagement and wedding stationary tie in together. Everything was so beautiful, I need another event so I can get Kelly to design more things for us!” Sophie and Colm Reetz

Country Gal Invites

How cute are the wee cows? These guys have been so popular over the years, we’ve created our own invitation for the collection with the cows gracing them, with a fun font and printed on dark kraft for a real rustic look. We think they would look pretty sharp printed on white card, and a bit of colour added too.

The wedding invitations measure DL and are printed on 280gsm dark kraft card and come with a plain white envelope. Tag and twine are optional and we have other pieces of stationery available also, please view here

Stationery Styling For The Day

STATIONERY STYLING ON THE DAY // This part of the wedding planning is fun as you can add a little creativity and personality to the styling. Below is a few stationery items you might like to include in the styling of your ceremony & reception. Some are practical and very helpful for guests, others just add to the loveliness to the day…

Wedding Order of Service Sheets or Program Fans: These let your guests know what the order of events is for the day, and who is in the bridal party and doing the important roles. The program fans technically have two purposes, as we all know how hot it gets here in New Zealand so they can be literally used as a fan to keep cool during the ceremony. Win win!

Vows: Printed vows in the same stationery design are fast becoming popular. As they not only serve as something to read your vows from on the day, but also make a lovely keepsake of the day.

Confetti Cones: The good old confetti (or rose petal) cones. We’ve even got a DIY tutorial on how to make these here.

Fun Signage: From printed framed signs, black boards, painted wooden signs to the new acrylic style ones for your welcome sign or to share drinks bar, guest book or photobooth details to your guests.

Buffet Labels: Sometimes its quite nice to add little labels to your drinks station, dessert bar or buffet – just so your guests know what they are being served.

Seating Plans: Whether you need one large sheet or little cards for each table illustrating where each guest is to be seated, a seating plan helps guests find there places.

Menus and Place Cards:  We’ve even seen napkins hand lettered with menus, and leaves with the guest names printed on them, or a simple printed menu and place card will work perfectly. Both serve a purpose on the tables, menus are typically required when guests are being served al carte style and they are required to choose. If you would like guest seated in specific seats around each table, place cards help to ensure this happens too.

Table Numbers:  These let guests know what number the table is so they can find their seats. Either make these a decent size, have one number at each end of the table or place high in a centrepiece so they are easy to be seen.

Wedding Games: Fun activities for guests to complete during the reception are entertaining. The “Wedding Advice” games allow guests to answer cues, and offer the couple their great (or not so great) advice. Printed on light card they can be placed at each setting for the guest.

Favours: Wedding favours have always a debate. Favours are meant to be small gifts for the guests to say thank you for attending the wedding. If you decide to give favours to your guests; succulents, macarons, chocolates, cookies in cute packaging never goes amiss… you can even add a little thank you note on these, or make the tag into a place card with their name.

Next month, I will be showing you how to create envelope liners – I cant wait to show you how to make these as they add so much beauty to your invitations.

Custom wedding invitation

This gorgeous couple originally came from the Netherlands and Belgrade respectively, and now reside in Wellington. Fre and Darko wanted their wedding invitations to share their creative side and a little bit about them, which I was pretty excited to help with. Together we decided to go with the an airmail style postcard, and with a handrawn city scape incorporating Netherlands quirky little house, and windmill, Wellington’s iconic buildings including the bucket fountain and Belgrade’s elegant architecture and bridge. On the reverse side we popped in all the important wedding ceremony, reception details and weekend festivities.

The invitations were DL size (99 x 210mm) and printed on 300gsm white smooth card, and came enclosed in blue metallic envelopes.

Thank You Cards With Message

Wedding Thank You Cards

Nicole and Tim had so many gorgeous wedding photos, we decided to include three on their thank you cards. As they were expecting a new addition to their family they chose to print a thank you verse, and handwrite a small note to each guest for a personal touch. The ivory card and heart monogram was a nice rustic touch that tied in with their earlier stationery.

Thank you card and envelope

We created these thank you cards for Tessa and Fraser, not long after their wedding day. To follow the same look as their invitations we opted for a lovely simple design that let their stunning photo steal the show, and allow the couple to write a personalised message on the back.

p.s. how amazing is that bouquet?!
